Head of Small Scale LNG
Klaipedos nafta AB
Mr. Robertas Kogelis is currently a Head of Small Scale LNG at Klaipėdos Nafta AB. The company integrates the lower cost, schedule and flexibility advantages of the FSRU technology into the complete downstream LNG value chain. The LNG terminal in Klaipeda port offers reloading services for small-scale LNG carriers, enabling break-bulk distribution to small and mid-scale import terminals across the Baltic coastline. A multi-purpose on-shore facility will start operations in mid-2017 servicing off-grid locations in the Baltics and North-East Poland. Apart from its primary purpose of loading LNG onto trucks and ship bunkering from existing jetties it will supply natural gas to Klaipėdos Nafta oil terminal, sharing some of the existing infrastructure.
Mr. Kogelis started his career at DHL and prior to joining Klaipedos Nafta, held senior management positions in logistics, financial services and telecommunications. In his current position he is responsible for developing a small-scale LNG supply chain and setting up the commercial infrastructure for the LNG bunkering and transport vessel, the reloading station and business development activities for the new on-shore facility in Klaipeda. Mr. Kogelis holds a master degree in Environmental Management from Vilnius University.
