Laurent Maurel was appointed Senior Vice President Strategy, Markets & Liquefied Natural Gas of the Total Group in July 2012. He is a member of the Management Committee of Total Gas & Power. After entering the Group Exploration & Production Division in 1987, he held various positions in France and Indonesia in the field of IT, economy, finance, LNG and new ventures negotiation. From 2002 to 2007, he was in charge of Total’s participation in various pipe gas and LNG projects in Abu Dhabi and Qatar. From 2007 to 2009, he was Vice President Strategy for Total Exploration & Production. From 2010 to 2012, he was Senior Vice President LNG for Total Gas & Power. Laurent Maurel graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs.
